Building
Houses - Building Hope
Through
volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat
builds simple, decent and affordable houses with the help

its founding in 1985 (First Affiliation in Oklahoma), our
Local Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and its supporters have built
27 homes for Enid, Oklahoma families.

Providing
No-Profit Mortgages
Our program
is designed to make home ownership possible for low-income families
that don't qualify for traditional loans, but have demonstrated
the ability to repay a Habitat mortgage and are in urgent need
of a safe, decent place to live.
Promoting
Dignity and Self-Reliance
Habitat
houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with
zero interest mortgages. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments
are used to build still more Habitat houses. Habitat offers a hand
up, not a hand out.
|
Promoting
Sustainable Development
As an authorized
affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, our office coordinates all aspects
of Habitat home building in the Enid, OK area, including fundraising,
building site selection, partner family selection and support, house
construction and mortgage servicing.
Building Leadership and Teamwork
In addition to the monthly mortgage payment, partner families invest 350 hours of their own labor - sweat equity - into building their home and the homes of others.
